(Character design, history, stats, and basic personality by Gazzi, BBD name/profile created by Lyrak.)
Name: Rustfell
Name significance: Named both for his color, and because it was his blow that finally felled the mammoth.
Birth Name: Xavier
Age: 4
Gender: Male
Species: BBD
Height: 3’9’’
Weight: 100 something
Build: Muscular and fit
Mother: Rosethorn
Father: Redback (Dead)
Offspring: Shasta and Kildare
Mate: Sandstep
Pack: BBO
Rank: Guard
Basic Personality: He is a strong and noble wolf. With his family he is a gentle role model, while in public he has a gruff exterior.
Detailed personality: He is loyal to his pack and not very quick to anger. He is more likely to turn cold when angered than hotheated. Even more important to him than the pack as a whole is his own family. He is a doting father, sometimes to the point of being a little fussy (a large part of why he wants to wait a year before having more pups - keeping an eye on two litters at once would be overwhelming), though he tries not to show that side and usually only lets it slip in front of his mate. To his pups he always tries to be calm and gentle, even lecturing with a loving smile unless something very serious was done. Otherwise, he saves most of the serious discussions for his mate.
To those outside his family he can appear gruff and distant, but it isn't a lack of love for his pack. Until others gets to know him he tends to treat them a bit more like coworkers and teammates than family, but to befriend him and join his inner circle is to see the warmer, softer side. Unlike some of the other gruffer members of the BBO he doesn't come off as surly, merely businesslike, perhaps a little standoffish. Get him off guard and even a near-stranger might catch a glimpse of his more personal side, however. Genuine smiles in public are fleeting - enjoy them while they last before he gets back down to business.
As a guard he takes his duties seriously, always one to report to traning sessions on time. If you catch him late, assume something important has held him, or that something is wrong. Anything to do with his pups, of course, is under the "important" category.
He's getting better about that whole fussy father thing, but it's taking some time. When they were younger he'd jump at the slightest sign of a sniffle. Now he tends to worry a bit when they are out of sight and wanderig about on their own, spending a lot of time reassuring himself that their independence is a good sign and that he did not raise his pups to be fools.
Shasta especially worries him, but they say that parents always worry most about the chidlren who remind them of themselves. He could be reckless in his youth, getting into trouble at every turn. The fact that he made it out of his messes unscathed does not reassure him - he chalks it up instead to sheer dumb luck. Even worse that she is so small and delicate. His main worries about Kildare is that his sister will get him into trouble.
To Sandstep he is a deeply devoted mate. She is the only one around whom he will fully let his guard down. He loves and trusts her, she is truly the light of his life. If anything happened to her it would shatter his heart to pieces.
Appearance: Average build, muscular but not to the point of looking bulky, just a good mid range. Most of his strength comes from strong will and spirit. His fur is generally well kept - he does a good job of taking care of himself. His body is covered in carying shades of reddish-brown, nose the same dark brown that splashes his back. His eyes are a deep green, his tattoos a pair of orange stripes below each eye.

History:
He was born into the pack. He met his mate while in his trials in the man village. Since then they have had two children, Shasta and Kildare. His mate has suggested having another litter, but his thoughts are that their pups are only a year old, and maybe they should wait another year or so.
